8 AM, time to load luggage into the trailer and make snacks for the ride from the snack table.
We are leaving the wide open spaces around Navasota, en route to Cleveland Texas, which turned out to be a beautiful ride of 71 miles. Sunny, warm, not too hilly, not too windy, just right.
Another vineyard. The hill country had many vineyards, and is reportedly the second largest wine producing area to Napa in California.
This is the road going into the Sam Houston National Forest. It is nice to see grass and trees and even lakes filled with water. I think we have finally left the desert.
Additional info on the occupations, current or former, of our group: White-water rafting company owner, nurse, stockbroker, Medical transcription service owner, daycare center manager. Whew! Our chef for this portion of the trip also owns a company that makes all natural lip balm, soaps, and lotions, some of which is bicycle themed. My complimentary lip balm is called "Climbing Kiwi."
