April 17, Thursday, day 42: learning new steps

55 miles in cloudy and sprinkly weather from Hammond to Bogalusa Louisiana. Never thought I would be in Bogalusa...  The terrain was slightly hilly; riding on the   back roads reminded me of Connecticut. Most of the day was spent looking at or fending off animals (another half dozen loose dogs).  The land and homes north of Baton Rouge are more prosperous than when we first crossed into LA. The wildlife center is like a small Lion Country Safari with deer, elk, various types of African animals roaming around. We couldn't get in on our bikes.

At the end of the day, Sandy gave us some line dancing lessons.

Joyce demonstrated the "kicking away the dogs while cycling" steps.

And the we celebrated her birthday with some awesome cheesecake flown in from the Carnegie Deli in NYC.

Going into Mississippi tomorrow.
